Method
Shake the ingredients with ice and double strain (strainer and fine strainer) into a martini glass. Finish with the dash of maraschino or grenadine, which sinks and draws the flame at the bottom.
Garnish
A cherry.
The story
This is the author's signature drink. The name came from the color: it was already called Blondie, until the red at the bottom of the yellow looked like a flame.
