Method
Pour all the ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

History
It was created in the 1970s by Norman Jay Hobday at Henry Africa's, a fern bar opened in 1969 in San Francisco's Russian Hill neighborhood. The name probably comes from the lemon drop candy, and the drink soon spread to other bars in the city.
