History
It is the Margarita made with Grand Marnier in place of triple sec, a combination also known as the Cadillac Margarita. The origin of the Margarita itself is disputed among several stories from the 1930s and 1940s, and its first known published recipe appeared in Esquire magazine in December 1953. The Grand Margarita joined the official IBA list in 2024.
